Our last day in Japan. :-(
Although we are sad to go and want to see so much more, we are also exhausted and ready to come home. Our last day was very relaxing and peaceful. Nara is very quiet so we took a walk around the park after breakfast. We saw a 3-story and a 5-story pagoda, fed the deer again and bought some gifts. Then we hopped on the JR train and made our way to Osaka.
This is a big metropolitan city. When we arrived, we packed all our stuff in a locker at the train station then went for some sushi. We ended up at an unbelievable conveyor belt sushi shop. Everyone sits around the chefs as they create the sushi and place it on the conveyor belt. Then you just take what you want as it comes around to your table. The food was excellent - we ate a lot. It's no wonder Osaka is known for the best sushi in the world. After, we took the subway to Osaka Castle- it was very beautiful and we found a ninja robot. We also found a bunch of fake food for sale. Every single restaurant has fake food displays. I bought a piece.
From here, we went back to the main train station, grabbed our stuff and headed to the airport hotel.
In fact, I am writing this blog from the airport in Tokyo. We have already flown from Osaka to Tokyo and now we have 8 hours to kill! Fortunately, they have a very cool airport. In the international wing, there is a re-creation of an Edo village and a complex of shops called Tokyo Pop Town. Pretty cool for an airport. I also took a pic of the controls that you find on the toilets here in Japan. They are crazy! Finally- please enjoy the pic of Col. Sanders Santa Claus- KFC is a thing here.
